At the heart of every Philabundance program is the belief that no Delaware Valley man, woman or child should have to go to bed hungry. So we do everything we can to ensure that our member agencies have a reliable source of the nutritious food they need to help the people they serve.

We accomplish this by distributing food through a network of close to 600 member agencies in the Delaware Valley.  These agencies include food cupboards, neighborhood distributions, shelters, emergency kitchens and various social service agencies with special programs such as senior centers.

We believe that simply providing enough food to satisfy someone's hunger is not enough. This belief has led Philabundance to develop specific programs over the years to help address the issues of malnutrition an hunger, especially among the vulnerable populations.

Senior Citizens:
Philabundance provides food for seniors through the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP).  Our volunteers make boxes that hold 30 pounds of nutritious foods supplied by the U.S.D.A.  The food covers all five food groups, including canned meat, juice, cereal, and 2-pound blocks of cheese.  These boxes are distributed every month.

Emergency Assistance
