“Philabundance is privileged to have John Core, Blaine Bringhurst and Representative Joe Sestak as its newest members on its board,” says David Miller, chairman of the board of directors of Philabundance. “Each individual brings to Philabundance the experience, talent and dedication needed to help us continue to grow and serve the needs of our communities and promote our mission of stamping out hunger in the Delaware Valley.”
A nonprofit organization, Philabundance was founded in 1984 to help fight hunger in the Delaware Valley while reducing food waste. On Jan. 1, 2005, Philabundance combined forces with the Greater Philadelphia Food Bank to provide a “Full Plate of Services” of frozen, shelf stable and perishable foods. Last year, Philabundance provided approximately 22 million pounds of high quality, nutritious food through its 620 member agencies throughout the region.
Philabundance is the region’s largest food bank and hunger relief organization. Working with more than 600 neighborhood organizations in both Southeastern Pennsylvania and South Jersey, Philabundance fights hunger and malnutrition principally by collecting and distributing food to people in need.
