Philabundance Recognizes Greater Philadelphia Cares and PA National Guard with Harvesters of Hope Awards at City Hall

City of Philadelphia Honors Philabundance with Proclamation

September is National Hunger Action Month and in an effort to recognize individuals and organizations in the Delaware Valley who are leading the way in the spirit of helping our neighbors in need, Philabundance is honoring Greater Philadelphia Cares and the PA National Guard with its Harvesters of Hope Awards in a ceremony at City Hall on Sept. 25, 2008.

Philabundance presented the Harvesters of Hope Awards to Greater Philadelphia Cares and their volunteers, who have supported Philabundance for more than 10 years and without whom the work of Philabundance and the many other nonprofits in our area would not be possible; and the PA National Guard, who has supported the Boy Scouts and their efforts with the annual Scouting for Food,Food Drive for the past 20 years. Without their support the Boy Scouts would not be as successful as they are in getting food to those in need.

Councilwoman Donna Reed Miller presented Philabundnace with a proclamation and resolution that made September 25th, Philabundance Day.
